One you all overlooked - the shed's light bulb. No more listening to snores from the wife when it is too hot to sleep, I can retire into my man cave and tinker to my heart's content.

Well, I guess I have to go for my desktop PC, you see I like to plan to do things - Interweb is useful for info there, I buy bits - again, a bit of browsing then some online shopping; at this point I usually run out of steam!

Whether it's car bits, computer bits, general electronic bits or whatever, that's where it stops.

Then something else tickles my fancy, a bit of research here, a bit of digging there and the cycle begins again.

I WILL get round to finishing stuff, until then there's always YouTube videos of how other folks have made it . . . . .

I've been with this for a while, the HR-OS1 Humanoid Endoskeleton: robots are always fun to mess with, specially with its humanoid shape (it can even be programmed to clap and dance)

I also have a very old LPKF milling machine, and the last pieces I bought are a RPi 3 and CY8CKIT-059.

Unfortunately my budget is very poor...

I would like to mount a 3d printer.

I can only feel jealousy seing your sheds...

A few days late now. But... My favourite piece of Tech in my garage to play with is my (Half Built) 3d printer. Though this last month I've had so much on progress has not been as quick as I would like.

Since my shed involves mechanical, it's only fitting that I include this image.

It's a 7m x 7m 3 ton (english) rated gantry crane that we removed from a generator shed.

The generator went to the skifield and I got the crane.

Unfortunately I've been waiting to get it erected, and since we had to cut the vertical support legs, it really requires my certified weld buddy who is struggling to find time.

This one is definately a low tech version with a number of chains to move it in the three axis.

My electronics area became a little overcrowded, and since the painter was due to come and do the whole house, cleaning up got ignored until the day to clean it out.

It's still boxed up pending a more suitable solution and some free time.

BUT winter is here so I'm thinking that it's a good time to start putting it back in .... in a more orderly fashion.

I'd have to say my favourite bit of tech has to be an Arduino.

It's cheap, easy and versatile.

Mine is something simple, but without it, I am totally lost. It is the Blackberry Passport. This piece hardware with BB10 OS is a workhorse which has a battery that lasts all day.

This may be some old tech, but it has saved me a load of time. The Huntron Tracker 1000 component tester gives you a wonderful (if a bit general) view of how a component is functioning or lack there of.
