It seems that they had some redesigning to overcome issues.

It now sports a very large heatsink which almost dwarfs the valve.

I always though the improved sound was not only because of the valve, but the transformer on the output.

This ensured that harmonics got knocked.

Those tube amps never seem to die. A guy I work with has one on his desk, not that interfaces with a pi, but it sits between his computer and his headphones.

My interest in tubes is the Nixie Tube clocks. I would love to build one.
