It’s been a while since I posted anything on this project. Progress has been slow because I’ve been really busy working on the house and garden but it has been made. I’ve finally made use of my prize winning...

RE: Instrument Control Board: Encasing

Nicely done.

RE: Instrument Control Board: Encasing

Nice technique - very good looking panel. It looks like you could have some SMT circuitry on the inside surface without hurting the clean outside look.

I'll have to think about making a cut-out footprint library, so I can copy your technique...

It's a neat idea to use solder mask cutout, it will look better than silkscreen, since the solder mask is much sharper/accurate.

It can't have been fun cutting the D-sub connectors, but it all looks great. Very nice having the separate display too.

RE: Instrument Control Board: Encasing

You’ve made nice progress Andrew! I’ve made PCB enclosure panels in the past with both silk screen and ENIG for the lettering and they came out great. I’m really interested in how you do the firmware.
