Sweet. If the encoder had a press switch you could incorporate play/pause feature. A larger knob would make it more comfortable to operate for sure.

I seem to recall one of your 4 projects had something to do with audio... so my best guess is that is a volume knob and the slot is so that you can read the volume number... so that you can crank it up 11. [emoticon:4191f5ee34e248a29fa0dbe8d975f74a]

It is a thermostat controlled hockey puck cooler. Professional hockey pucks are frozen before game play to keep them from bouncing.

It's remote volume control for a Bluetooth audio system. The hockey puck base is so it stays where it's supposed to. The second photo was taken during the proof test of the hockey puck as a means to keep the cat from knocking the device off the table.

I’d guess the slot is for a ribbon cable. The pot/encoder/multi-position switch is to control signals along that cable. Designed to be mounted on a post perhaps. Other than that I have no idea what it might actually be. Intriguing!

Ah yes, a mystery project.

Looks to me like a knob on top, possibly for volume control.

The slot could be a plug for either a cable or another board.
