Looks like a reflective IR distance sensor has joined the party. Looks like one of the longer range Sharp ones so target expected within the 200mm to 1500mm sort of range.

'Shutter' is printed on the PCB silkscreen so I'm guessing this is the camera related project.

The PCB silkscreen shows 'I2C Laser' yet the Sharp device I believe is an analogue output so perhaps there will be two for 'X/Y Sense'

I'm guessing this is some sort of a camera control system to make photographing projects on the workbench easier.

Whatever it is, it looks pretty cool. When I see the screen with the two little knobs it makes me wish it's an electronic Etch-a-Sketch.

Looks like the PSU is waiting to clip onto something but the hockey puck bases suggest table top use as well.
