This is a great conversation. The kind of thing that we're hoping weekly journal produces. One of the things that was really nice was all the great conversations that we had when this program launched, so keeping a weekly content journal is a good way to go back to our roots. The way these is programs are set up is that they are compliments to one another so activities in roadtests and other areas of the community often overlap with this one. We just had a Programmable Logic competition and that was no doubt influenced by all the increased activity around FPGA in other areas of the community. As [mention:2136c4649d3b47f78653b7e97ac61f69:e9ed411860ed4f2ba0265705b8793d05] mentioned the Project14 competitions are product agnostic but that doesn't mean you can't use a board you get from a roadtest or an Azure Sphere in a project you do based on a theme. The theme for August will be Energy Harvesting while September is up for grabs. The choices for the September theme are Vision Thing (vision based projects), Graphics, Mesh Network, and CPU math. Because you are free to use whatever components you like, you can use a board from a roadtest or a board you received as swag. For instance, the Raspberry Pi 4 can be used for a Project14 project and you can win one by suggesting an idea in Win a Raspberry Pi 4 in Celebration of Our 10th Birthday! or RoadTest the Raspberry Pi 4 Model B (2GB) . Or you can get an Arduino compatible board as swag in 10 Year Challenge | Tell Us What You Can't Live Without for an ESP8266, Arduino Uno, or Arduino Nano! I know there is a lot of activity around Azure and I would not be surprised to see the boards pop up in some projects. As far as planned activities around it, its pretty hard to predict what theme will be used months in advance which is how other programs are set up. We want to do more things that involve supporting the greater community but at the same time we don't want to lose what makes this program unique on the community. I wasn't a part of the Azure launch so I must admit I haven't familiarized myself with the board as much as others so couldn't say which themes would be a compliment to current or upcoming themes. Would love to hear your ideas though.
