It must be difficult to design a survey... but... lol... I did think it seemed poorly designed from my point of view, in terms of thinking how to answer it.

As a hobbyist I have gone a long way to implementing an IoT solution - a LoRa TTN gateway, and I have investigated and played with a number of solutions, including LoPy4, the STM Micro solution, ESP32 solutions, and a most recently a "Thingy " (which is a Bluetooth device rather than LoRa or WiFi solution, but is a great little demo unit for STEM stuff - which brings in my STEM ambassador hat too...)...

Applications as a hobbyist include Environmental Monitoring and vehicle tracking...

But at work I have an interest in seriously investigating the possibilities for Industrial IoT for monitoring the state of equipment in the field, to improve system reliability, and possibly to include software updates. But it is at a very early stage. Currently of interest on my radar are AzureSphere compliant chipsets that can be used for cloud applications not necessarily hosted by Microsoft Azure, but with the security taken care of by AzureSphere so that I can concentrate on the product functionality.

Questions about where I see the most use of IoT in the future are of limited value... surely? Asking me what the single most important thing to me is depends on whether I am wearing my hat as a professional or as a hobbyist, so that was a bit confusing (I get confused easily perhaps?). Asking me twice seems a waste of a question... Asking me to choose the "one factor that I think would most accelerate the benefits of IoT", and then allowing me to choose more than one answer was presumably a slip-up...

So I answered to the best of my ability from my professional point of view rather than as a hobbyist who is into IoT (or LoRa in particular at the moment)...

The world of IoT is not just limited to connecting many embedded devices to the network.

With the future headed towards a lot of automation tech, AI is always ready to take the stand when the ware is just ready simple spread the information reach the remote grounds to fire the new beginning.

Whatever new technologies come up security is one of the most important factor. Maybe Microsoft answered it by a little favor by releasing Sphere OS in its Azure Sphere. The possibilities of a smart city can be expanded if we reach the marginal community, there is a problem, there is a sort of solution.

As part of my monthly micro research on problems faced by people living outside our well built city I had met a small guy who had really awesome ideas but was confused a lot on how to apply them, I somehow got him understanding what is IoT and stuff, something I learned many times from speaking to people with partial knowledge about IoT is that fictional ideas is a serious thing to cared for.

Sometimes its like there are people with resources but nothing to do with it and there are people that can do but never get exposed to good resources to thinker about.

IoT, ML-DL, Quantum Computing and FPGA is fun if taken seriously a good project can bring some serious change to the society.

As I already had a good startup based on On-Demand Software Solutions.

And we also have a Innovation Section were me and many other brainstorms just sit and thinker with new technologies!

Poorly written survey. Does not provide sufficient range of answers forcing the user to make a choice that is not accurate just to provide an answer.

We've taken on-board your feedback - there should be no exclusion list for the vouchers. Therefore, if you are one of the lucky winners of vouchers you should be able to apply the code on the aforementioned products.

Took the survey, although it is not really designed for individuals such as me (retired, so not commercially active). I didn't enter the prize draw as they are not my thing. I did like the IoTHub that I was directed to at the end (https://uk.farnell.com/internet-of-things ). I might have to go back and look into that again.
