Does any anyone have the docs for the control board?

I want to add limit switches for the x and y axis.

I was thinking of using a range hood with a 160 CFM fan using 5 inch dryer vent to the outside?

Overkill perhaps?

Lots of toxic fumes when etching acrylic and similar materials ...

What do you recommend for exhausting fumes from the 3018 Laser Engraver? From what I read (so far) you should have 200 CFM of air flow. Evidently the exhaust fan should be outside?

Any tips appreciated.

Hi Ralph,

There are always glitches and problems as one starts into the learning process. I know if I was ever to do much with laser cutters the ventilation system would be first on my list. I played with a hand held dental laser the other day and I had to stop what I was trying to do because of the smoke. The best way would be to put the cutter in a small room and use a furnace blower or exhaust fan to vent the room to the outside. I am afraid a hood or even a proximity inlet might not be enough to catch the smell of smoke. I look forward to enjoying your adventure vicariously.

A very impressive assemblage. The laser seems to do a good job. It was interesting to see the 'noise' in the engraved image which was not visible in the image. I would like to have my own laser cutter but all the associated paraphernalia and safety equipment (plus the cost and maintenance) put me off. You seem to have all that sorted, well done.
