As for diaries, I don't enjoy them. I kept an engineering logbook when required, but it is not my preferred way of documenting anything.

I still read a lot of books.

I slowed down when I began writing, but I picked up a bunch of books from my older brother after he passed away and I have rediscovered the joy of reading.

Interesting! I always feel like wanting to read something and stay in it prolonged, but end up doing quick fixes like going through a parallel resource having condensed info and just or completely not serving purpose. Noting down/summarizing definitely makes things more effective. Or just closing eyes for a second and trying to recall back out of blank.
Makes me think. I need to improve at this now,....

I certainly love to read books, however nobody else is tracking what genres I like or which books I have read.

I expect choosing a book as a gift for anyone could be problematic.
