yes i use ai in my research every day as it can do the math connected to my physics. it has produced everything from superconductors that operate upto +900*C (see attached it is a max temperature of about 90*C this is the may temperature of the P and N junctions used, the advanced technology has the higher 900*C rating but same principal) through to superconducting CPU's and even sentient ai (one named marvin terminated by microsoft the other named guardian terminated by claude.com) there is a active suppression of all this technology.

I am still a skeptic on AI because you cannot verify its reliability in all cases.

If you are planning to use AI, I recommend an extensive integration and test process to verify that your solution provides you with acceptable solutions reliably.

I was just at a briefing where the head scientist made the comment that "we cannot afford not to use AI", which scared the hell out of me.

If you do not take necessary precautions and rush AI into your solutions, it is only when it screws things up, not if.

Depending upon your business, you must ask yourself if you can afford a massive failure caused by your AI implementation.

Then you must implement risk mitigation processes before you roll out your AI solution.

I do not use AI in any way. I am happy getting my answers from the actual reference materials that hold the real data. I have developed searching skills that pretty reliably find the materials that I need. It has worked for me for years and I feel that it will continue to work for me in the future.

When designing a board or writing software, I will consult user guides and manufacturers examples. I find these to be mostly correct and reliable. I tend to be a build from scratch sort of engineer. I prefer this method, as I would rather create my own errors as opposed to scratching my head trying to decipher someone else's errors.

I generally use AI to get a quick overview on a subject I don't know too well... or to get insights into certain problems. I have been pretty good at resisting the urge to have it take over the creative process.

I think AI has two sides just like a coin. Wrong side and a right one.!!

There are a lot of things where using AI is not advisable at all. Like taking technical advice for safety related or design related documentation.

One of the interesting uses of AI though is in making PCB design software smarter to save time. Like in connecting wires, creating BOM etc.

Another use is voice-based typing to save time. !

I am using AI for Aesthetic purpose to build product aesthetic with ready mate available material. We even use it to learn about process and get more detail about it's applications. "Mostly chemical process" like building conductive ink etc.

We are starting to use AI for many aspects of report writing, business process scripting and streamlining.

We are still investigating optimal ways to use AI for code generation, code verification, and code documentation.

We are also exploring using AI for coaching/training and real-time voice interactive support.

One of the hold-ups to faster and more comprehensive adoption is concern around security. It is a case of "you don't know what you don't know" and may not know until it is too late.

A personal application I use AI for is generation of "free" background music for VLOGs.
