Sure a ships captain&amp;nbsp; is responsible for the ship and the journey but I doubt he would actually be in charge of a colonization programme and given the authority to change the entire expidition based on a whim.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;From that point onwards the entire film is just as flimsy, flakey and confused throughout.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The worst thing is that this film destroys the entire Alien mythology. Part of the reason Alien is so scary is the thought that these creatures made their way from a distant part of space, destroying any other creatures in their path and using those creatures genetics to become the perfect killing machines that we saw on the first films. But no...
