Hi Cabe,

I have not seen the movie, but I had been looking forward to its earlier version.

The movie was supposed to be Prometheus 2, where we got to meet the makers of the Alien and the human race, but the producers wanted something darker so we got this movie instead.

I had a great interest in seeing how they presented the makers, but I have no interest in seeing a remake of the original Alien, which is evidently what they end up doing with this one.

Too bad. The Prometheus idea was a good one. If I want to see blood and gore, I will just turn on the news.

This film is absolute pants.

A ship carrying 2000 colonists (in deep sleep) to inhabit a distant planet suddenly decides to change plan and inhabit a different planet instead based on the decision of the ships captain, no council, no colonist committee no government sanction. Sure a ships captain is responsible for the ship and the journey but I doubt he would actually be in charge of a colonization programme and given the authority to change the entire expidition based on a whim.

From that point onwards the entire film is just as flimsy, flakey and confused throughout.

The worst thing is that this film destroys the entire Alien mythology. Part of the reason Alien is so scary is the thought that these creatures made their way from a distant part of space, destroying any other creatures in their path and using those creatures genetics to become the perfect killing machines that we saw on the first films. But no... This film decides to tell us the alien species came from a science experiment gone wrong by the first ever android created on earth.

Unfortunately I cant unsee this film
