It does look quite similar to an arduino socket!

I wonder if the existing controller is arduino based...

The connector looks like a standard 2.54mm (0.1") pitch SIL header socket.

They are available from ebay/amazon, just search for 'jumper socket arduino' or similar, and you'll see them. Often they come as single-wire sockets, they can be placed together to fit a 5-way connector for instance. They are generic, there's different manufacturers, and they all fit.

If you don't have the crimp tool, you can solder.

For the shell, you can use a 5-way receptacle, it is 5-way although the photo shows it as 2-way.
