I brought one to do some work on Edge Lit signs.

I find they are a little large, but useable.

The speed control was essential for the Acrylic I used since it was rather soft.

This shows the difference when you get the speed wrong and it binds up in the tip.

Mine came with a holder that allowed you to mount it vertically

I'm still thinking a CNC is the way to go.

Andy,

Nice review. This does look like a pretty solid tool. All of my dremel stuff is aging (some are more that 40 years old). I almost broke down and bought a new one last year, but I found a way to talk myself out of it (not the easiest thing to do as I am a total tool freak). I might now feel a little better about purchasing one based on your review.

Nice review, I must admit I am fond of Dremel style tools. I do prefer the battery driven models, as I find the electric cable sometimes gets in the way, but as you say they do come at a price.

I do keep meaning to get a 220 Workstation to turn it into a pedestal style drill.
