Nice improvement, but I think it is just too underpowered to tackle any trail with a modest amount of resistance.

Would tracks be an option? I'd have thought they would work well in snow - especially if you have tank-style steering

Those radial spikes remind me of the studs screwed into motorcycle tires to drive on ice.

I have another idea to bounce off you - I'll upload it here when I have a chance to do a sketch...

You are getting closer to the functionality that you need in snow, but there does seem to be some room for improvement. The multiple terrain is always going to be a tough thing to sort out. If only you could have rubber tires with spikes that could retract.
