Or the enclosure?</title><link>https://community.element14.com/members-area/personalblogs/b/blog/posts/what-comes-first-the-pcb-or-the-enclosure</link><pubDate>Mon, 15 Mar 2021 15:05:55 GMT</pubDate><guid isPermaLink="false">93d5dcb4-84c2-446f-b2cb-99731719e767:e3555f6f-42a8-48f5-a7f3-77e611c91c9d</guid><dc:creator>Andrew J</dc:creator><slash:comments>1</slash:comments><description>&lt;p&gt;I try and do both together and plan the size of the PCB to an enclosure I want to use.&amp;nbsp; What I&amp;#39;d like to see are more (and cost effective) enclosures where the front and rear panels are flat, removable plates for drilling and cutting purposes - and separately obtainable in case of mistakes!&amp;nbsp; One of the best enclosures I&amp;#39;ve found had those end plates plus an internal mounting plate which gave an accurate indication of area to occupy for PCB(s) although it did mean that the PCB could not be &amp;#39;butted&amp;#39; up to a panel, e.g. for purposes of PCB mounting a DC jack or other connector.&amp;nbsp; If I want to reuse that enclosure, I just need to buy a new mounting plate (if necessary) and the enclosure itself is never cut-up.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;It would be useful to have more graduation in sizes in at least some ranges: it seems that they jump from too small, to just-too-tight, to absolutely massive.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;img src="https://community.element14.com/aggbug?PostID=10982&amp;AppID=293&amp;AppType=Weblog&amp;ContentType=0" width="1" height="1"&gt;</description></item></channel></rss>
