Hey Nick--

I am assembling a copy of my guitar (a 1989 Ibanez 540S) so I can experiment with different pickups, body finishes, and trem settings without damaging the original. How easy was it to swap out your pickups? I don't mind frying a few PCBs in the pursuit of advancing my knowledge of electronics, but damaging my instrument is a whole other thing.

Also, did you notice a big difference after changing pickups? Opinions are mixed about the impact they have, given all the other variables down the signal path which can all affect your tone.
