while traveling by Air, To avoid such situation I always assemble modules at the location where its being demonstrated.

When the project is battery powered, I always try to use cell phone battery, At time of demonstration I use battery from my personal cell phone..

Also I always keeps documentation of project in hard copy to explain authorities in quick and clear way about parts which they fill suspicious.

Many years ago - 1973 or 74, i think - when the IRA bombing was starting to get worse in the UK, I was working on some programmable logic controllers, which were covered in lights, with coloured wires sticking out of them all over the place!

A colleague at a "secret" government establishment wanted me to show the equipment to his boss, so I took a rack full down to said establishment.

Security at that time was:

"Who are you here to see, Sir?"

"Dr. ...... in ......."

"Ok, Park over there, please while we inspect your car."

My car was looked over, mirrors on long sticks poked under it & then I was asked to open the boot.

"That's not a bomb, is it, sir?"

"No, it's some equipment I've brought for Dr. ......."

"Ok, Sir. Please drive to building .... and park in a designated visitor space. We'll let Dr. ..... know you are on your way."

Yes things with wires and lights might raise some eyebrows and given the world state quite understandable.
