As @[mention:4f1ca8255f8742cd8649c704f7ea3bc3:e9ed411860ed4f2ba0265705b8793d05] suggested, salvaging parts from discarded equipment can be fun, rewarding and VERY cheap!

I follow quite a few youtubers - one who I think may be of interest to you is The Post Apocalyptic Inventor He salvages, adapts, repurposes and builds some rather cool stuff and it may give you a few ideas.

Another to maybe dip your toes into is GreatScott! yet another interesting channel, one of many who digs into tesla coils (and coil guns) - the difference is he explains what's going on during the build with electronic schematics etc.

Hi Jade,

Many good parts for electronic projects can be found inside old discarded equipment. Ask your friends and neighbors for broken things and start taking them apart. A printer has motors, lasers, mirrors, switches and power supplies inside. Even an old can opener with a knife sharpener on the end can be used as a small grinder. Being a good scrounger can save you a lot of money.
