Excellent post.

You did a good job of working through the signals, the data paths and signal conditioning issues.

Your board work was very good and compact.

The only thing I might have done differently would be to use the Cypress Semiconductor PSOC 4000 series for the debounce and analog circuitry conditioning.

You could also use them to get more of the response you are looking for.
