Very cool that you managed to find metal-can transistors for this : ) TO-92 just isn't the same : )

As you say, such circuits are a pain to think through, due to whatever you've mentally initially measured being anachronistic by the time you've mentally followed the other half of the circuit.

During their astable-ness the capacitors are slightly charged in the wrong direction (but not much) - I've no idea if electrolytics are ok with that at a small voltage or not though.

awaaa. one of the first circuits I made with the Radio Shack / Tandy / Science Fair 100 in ONE kit. My brother and I had to save more than a year of pocket money to buy it at the Tandy store in Diest, Belgium.
