Any robotics project can be very challenging, so to achieve this much is still very impressive. Good documentation too. I'm seeing some black image anomaly in a couple of areas, but apart from that, the documentation is good.

RE: Self Driving Car (Automatic Lane Detection) (on a Robot)

I really liked this project and I think you have achieved a significant amount. It looks like it is almost working. When I made a black line follower I had some similar problems, it was going much to fast and was jerky, so I just made it go slower so that the sensor system could work better. You could use some pulse width modulation on the motor driver to slow the car down, that should help. You might need a bigger road as well, it looks like your vehicle would work outside. Light levels are a problem, I tend to have to customise my black line follower to every different lighting environment it is used in. The alternative is to learn a lot of control theory.

I have not made a vision based black line follower and never even thought of making a lane follower. Your example has encouraged me to think about what I might be able to do.

Dubbie
