I think I fell into the Element14 community as well. I used to use the Farnell site for designing electronics for teaching at the University and one day someone said why not look at Element14, so I did. At the time it didn't seem useful to me (I was wrong - it would have been great) so I didn't follow it up. Then when I retired, somehow I looked it up again, saw a competition on mobile robots, thought I'd have a go and I've been 'connected' ever since. I even Blog, much to my children's amusement. Element14 is great - I love it.

Welcome to Element14. That was a great introduction and it is always nice to see someone new joining and explaining their background and interests.
