that is really cool idea.

It got me thinking, you could do all sorts of variations on the input device to make the cars go faster.

For example, you could use electret microphones as analog inputs to the Arduino as well, the louder someone shouts into the mike , the faster it goes,....or someone claps into the mike, hums, etc..etc... some kids like to make noise :-)

Nothing like a simple game or challenge to break the ice with anyone.

Hi Razvan,

I think you did a great job on this build and I am confident it will serve your intent to catch the attention of the children.

A couple years ago one of my grandsons told me about a machine he had seen used to treat PTSD. He ask me if I could build one. It was a fun project and involved LEDs tracing back and forth with sound output to the appropriate ear at specific times as well as a vibration in a handheld device at specific times. I began by prototyping it using discrete components and then I redid it using the Arduino. It was a fun exercise. I eventually built a functional unit which has been sitting on my completed projects shelf ever since. I do not know if it is a legitimate treatment or snake oil but it was a nice challenge.
