This is the basic process of a compost heap and I do much the same with that. Cut up the organic waste into smaller pieces, pile it up, occasionally add some garrotta and then very occasionally remove the rotted material and put onto my vegetable beds, although I have never had any liquid come out of the bottom. There are problems with an automated process as cutting or grinding the waste can be difficult as everything can get jammed up, especially with hard sticks and 'mush'. I do have a stirring rod thingy for the pile but it is really difficult to get it to turn and mix up the rotting compost and I'm thinking of getting two compost bins so I can mix up the rotting material by just moving it from one bin to the other.

I look forward to seeing your implementation.

Dubbie

RE: Blog #1 Concept

Seems an advanced idea of compost.
