Yo Clem! Seriously, an Intel i7 should run circles around an i3. Besides CPU, bus and RAM speed might make a difference. I suspect that O/S and disk hardware are insignificant.

The i7 mobo make/model?

I think I'll just act out the classic mnemonic for remembering the first digits of pi: how I need a drink (alcoholic of course) after the heavy lectures involving quantum mechanics.

Count the letters in each word: 3 1 4 1 5 9 2 6 5 3... Mnemonics like this work because pi's first 0 digit is the 32nd decimal place.
