On a properly scientific note, the Australians found that swapping the wires on their ADSL connections did improve their speed. (not twice or triple)

The cable pair should be balanced and logic dictates there should be no change in which wire went to what, but they were able to prove it and Silicon Chip made a small device with a couple of LED's to allow a quick check to be performed.

I'm going to try this out, because my internet is particularly slow today.

I'm going to skip the double speed and jump straight into the triple speed solution.

I have the IDE cable. Currently looking if I can find the two ends of my internet cable.
