Very cool project Frank! You did a great job mapping out the design (mesh) of your main head piece as well as the rest of the parts.

It is very difficult to get the servo to produce a non-wonky movement. A client of mine builds these very cool skulls which have some of the smoothest eye motions that I have seen. He has a series of videos that show the DIY sequence of building one of his skulls (https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLZdCIZv81EvtdVUnPve6TjuQwof72q32m ). The fifth in the series of videos, shows the eye movement mechanism which is very complex, but highly effective. You might be able to get some good ideas giving it a watch.

I look forward to seeing more on this cool project.

I'm now wondering how you'll make him metallic : )

In the indian sweets world, there's lots of silver sheets often stuck on the candy/sweets, (I don't know if they still do it, but when I was little I remember parents buying sheets of it, interleaved with tissue-paper) which could maybe be glued on? Like this maybe (I didn't read it in detail but it looks similar).

Great project.

Have you considered running the eye servos independently?

You could really freak people out by have each eye move separately rather than together.

Great share. Blows me away the skill some people have. I'm lucky to get the lid of a can of bean without slicing a finger. Hopefully tin man doesn't cut you.
