&lt;p&gt;Once I find it, I can verify that it is in fact the one that I lost and not just a random component laying about (most useful for unmarked capacitors).&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;You know, I had not about this before, but having a meter dedicated to these tips on my bench would be helpful for random components. Currently, I&amp;#39;m in the habit of just throwing SMTs away when I find them.
