Whew, I'm glad the box held up on this long journey it seems to have had, and I'm glad we managed to get the laptop after those long delays!

Blimey - great prize. I notice it doesn't have a nipple joystick like Lenovo's - will you miss that? You mention that it has a fixed internal battery: do you know if the battery is user serviceable? By which I mean, by someone who isn't prepared to poke, prod, prize, lever and generally @£$^ about with the laptop to replace! On my MacBook Pro, that user serviceable part required 10 days at an Apple store (I got it back after 7 actually) and a new bottom case, keyboard and trackpad to gain a new battery! It seems not uncommon to have non-replaceable batteries these days.

You'll find with a TB port that it opens up a whole set of options with regards to external blazing fast SSDs. It may not boot older operating systems but with a VM and an image on an external drive you won't notice that it isn't on the main hard drive.
