The two load currents you've measured are for higher drain.

I wonder what the results will be if you did 100 and 150mA.....

BTW I gave up on those cameras and find my Nikon D3200 (or the 3100) does 500 shots on a charge.

If you factor flash into it you can still easily get 200 shots .....

Plus you don't have to wait until it writes to the card .....

Very interesting post and very informative. I know you say it may be antidotal at best (only one battery was used from each company) but I think it's a good start.

Hi John,

I read this blog post with a smile - it is one of the cleverest circuits I've seen in a long time. I thought it was very smart.

Easy to replicate, and provides all the information you need in the displays in the project box.

I love how well written your blog post is, with detailed explanation of the circuit and nicely laid out results. This is great that your DC load project was put to good use here too. I am surprised at the results, one would have thought the E*** and D**** ought to have

been much longer lasting compared to the Panasonic given the difference in cost, but it shows

how we should never assume.

Anyway I have to say again, thanks for sharing your work on this, and the very clever circuit.
