Excellent description of your circuit analysis and definition about understanding what the circuit needed to do and how you selected the most likely suspects early.

Nice breakdown of the process.

The good thing about this fault was it was repeatable.

That at least makes it possible to find.

I wonder how many others would have decided it was time to buy a new one, rather than fixing the $5 part.?
