How does the AMP part of the meter work? I don't see anything in the meter it in series with the load?

edit: ah, it seems to be in the ground path.

This is really awesome. First year university covered how to build such a power supply as part of our lab exercises, so Ivan's done it about 10 years sooner : )

The neat, solid construction is very cool too.

I know you've probably got loads of project ideas, otherwise to add to the list to use with the new power supply : ) how about something radio related? : ) or sound-effect related with multiple 555's, or opto related, e.g. sending tones using the 555, over an optical path to an amplifier!

Taking time to show how to work through failures is a necessary step.

I always make sure and involve the students on how to correct any issues, or help them to see where the problem lies.

Ivan will be in good stead to be a Mr Fixit like his teacher.
