In the Bay Area there are two shops I visit about once a month:

WeirdStuff Warehouse in Sunnyvale
- It's finished used goods. So routers, video cards, keyboard, mice, vga adapters, etc. The prices on the boxes don't really mean much. Name a fair price at the register and you'll get it.
HSC (Halted.com) Electronic Supply in Santa Clara
- Used / Surplus electronics components. The stuff you won't find on Newark.com because nobody makes it anymore. Rows and rows and rows of every kind of component you might need. They also have some used electronic test equipment.

The stores about 15 minutes apart if traffic is light. Sadly, or more correctly my worry, HSC is for sale. The owners wish to retire but haven't found an appropriate buyer. I would hate to see this store close.

That looks amazing. Reminds me of going round the old CB Radio shops, Tandy and Maplins as was in the 80's

John, Im going to include two other stores in SoCal

BEST ONE EVER Apex Electronics
C&H SurplusUsed to be at 2176 E Colorado Blvd( but they closed and looked like they reopend at a new location and they keep there old sign! The place had a cavernious back room with two floors ::= WONDERLAND
and a trip to LA has to include N.S. Aerospace Props - Norton Sales, Inc.

What a great find! I used to visit a couple of vintage electronic stores up in Sacramento (not even close to you present location) to find supplies when I was up there working on some projects. Some of these places have more junk than treasures but this one actually looked pretty clean (in comparison).

Great that you connected with the owner and generated some interest in you amazing probes.

That experience doesn't happen on the internet .... stuff that may not be "important" enough to merit a web page may be a thrilling find for some enthusiast.

I used to live out there in Torrance and worked for Huges Aircraft and Garret Airreach on 190th. When I saw the stores address, I double check and its outside of both Compton and Torrance, in LA city. But I put the info into my phone and have to give John a big Shout Out! As its always good to find a new hole to did in. Besides my racks, or Tanners 40miles away over in Carolton. (Dallas)
