A kilo of scrap solder! I can't imagine the amount of soldering that resulted in that much scrap....

Pity you don't know someone that does soldering using the acid flux and iron heated over coals or something equally massive.

That is very responsible of you to save so much solder. Good for you. In addition to your safety warnings about getting burned, I would add that in many cases, the solder contains lead, so wash your hands after handling. Don't lick your fingers. Perhaps you only use lead-free solder. But on my bench I have both kinds.

Now all you need is a solder pot - you already have the solder ingots.
