I found some of the connectors still in a package which gave me a name to Google. Here is the result:

Also note the date on the ad was 1966. 52 Years !!! Where did the time go?

Very nice.... I could still use these things if they were made with small gauge wire - #28 or #30. I make far too many lap joints that are not mechanically robust. Sounds like you are having fun looking through electronics history. That is very cool! Although I'd seen such terminal strip assembly, I would never have guessed what such a coil would be used for.
