Great project John Sir.

Off-topic, we did a small hangout a few years ago to talk about projects and other bits. With winter almost here, it could be worthwhile to do a webex or google hangouts. There are a couple of permutations and combinations for that where individual join-ins could be replaced by a lot of us getting together in a physical location and connecting to other lots over the internet. Sort of like local meetup things?

Still thinking and learning.

Great build!

I notice that you've used label maker labels for the legends and markings on your laser-cut front panel. When I have access to a laser cutter for making panels/enclosures, I like to leave the protective paper coating on the acrylic, etch the legends and markings directly onto the panel during the laser process, then fill the etched areas with a paint pen using the remaining protective paper coating as a mask. Here's a picture of an enclosure that was made using this technique:

Another well executed supply.

Fusion 360 is free for makers, and it has the advantge it can output to many types of controllers during the Post Process (GCode) or share the raw file.

I find it a little frustrating in some areas (I got used to using Coreldraw), but I have seen the odd trick online to overcome them, and other techniques can help.

Very nice build. You've inspired me to try a laser cut panel. Unfortunately, I tend to have the OOPS experience quite frequently - so I'll have to be more diligent than usual.

Nice project! Very neat layout, and impressive how it all looks like that enclosure was designed to be used for this project!

The front panel design is spectacular too. I've got to get better at finding enclosures.. I've got a few switch mode modules that I've been meaning to put in an enclosure too, including some massive 48V 10A door-stop.

Interesting project.

How noisy is you main linear regulated output ?

I've often been disappointed about how hard it is to get rid of switcher noise with subsequent filtering and linear regulators.

Hi John,

As usual, it is a pleasure to read about and see your builds. The look of the unit is impressive, and I really like the way you recycle/upcycle salvaged parts. And with the fixed 3.3V, 5V, +-12V and the variable supply, it makes one very useful unit!
