See the following Blog: An Extreme Ripple Power Supply Build The idea was just a seed and a pile of assorted resources. Industry standards are 1A or 5A secondaries, so if it is one those it would be relatively easy to source something, if it is a more unique rating then you will probably be best to leave it as you have it.

Kind regards.

RE: 0 to 150 Volt AC Bench Power Supply Build

Very good build John.

Well done.

DAB

RE: 0 to 150 Volt AC Bench Power Supply Build

Hi John,

Very nice build. I like the safety features that you implemented. It would be nice to have an AC supply around but I probably wouldn't use it enough to justify it. I don't have a nice lab space like yours to accommodate it.

Just a quick comment. It appears from the schematic that the AC socket on the front panel is connected in parallel with the output jacks, If that is true, I would recommend adding a warning label so no one uses it accidentally as a convenience outlet.

Ralph

RE: 0 to 150 Volt AC Bench Power Supply Build

Hi John,

This looks like an excellent piece of equipment! Very clever trick with the relay too, it's a really neat safety idea.

This project looks awesome all-round, and very flexible, that's a great adjustable range and power capability.

A while back I purchased an isolation transformer with center-tapped secondary, and a 100V transformer. I'm thinking of combining it all somehow, to have a unit that will give me 100V, 120V, and 240V. But now I'm thinking I should have obtained a variac for more flexibility. Sometimes it's hard to decide on feature-set when building such custom stuff!

RE: 0 to 150 Volt AC Bench Power Supply Build

Hi John,

Thanks for this interesting blog - just what I need whilst drinking my coffee on Sunday morning [View:/resized-image/__size/16x16/__key/commentfiles/f7d226abd59f475c9d224a79e3f0ec07-785c030e-31d8-4cd3-bc45-5ca19cd38964/contentimage_5F00_1.png:16:16].
