Hi Nico,

I compiled the LCD demo using the evaluation version of the Keil uVision toolchain and that worked fine.

However, I couldn't get the camera demo to compile as it appears the code size exceeds the maximum allowed by Keil's evaluation compiler:

.\Discover-More\Project.axf: error: L6050U: The code size of this image (33676 bytes) exceeds the maximum allowed for this version of the linker.

I understand from your blog that you used the IAR toolchain, which also seems to also have a 32K code limit unless you choose the 30 day time limited version? I wonder if you could confirm which version you used and wether you hit this limit problem?

Hmm weird, I have the exact same set up as you although my ribbon cable is like7 or 8 inches long, could that effect anything? Also my discovery board has been pretty used and I think I might have some problems there. I was just checking to make sure you didnt have to make any modifications to any of the code or anything like that.

Hey Nico,

Did you have any problems hooking this up and putting the demo on the board? i've been dealing with the STM32DISCOVERY for quite a while now but for some reason I cant get this thing to work... I have the LCD base board and discovery board all hooked up. I downloaded IAR embedded IDE and loaded the sample code but for some reason my LCD just stays blank. I noticed the blue and red LED's blink once or twice really quick at the beginning but nothing else happens.... Do you have any Idea what could be wrong?

It looks like a nice kit. I'm tempted.

I've never used ST products (the programmer is £50+VAT, which on it's own is not huge, but is a lot of money if I buy programmers

for each manufacturer (so I tend to restrict myself to the manufacturers for which I already have programmers as often as possible).

For programming off-board devices, I'm guessing it is possible to breakout some wires from the Discovery board to use it as a

'poor mans' ST-LINK, which would save money ; ). In theory that also does make this board rather attractive.
