Wow, interesting module. Thank you for the in-depth write-up. The combined flash memory and audio amplifier make it interesting to me. Definitely going to throw a couple of these into my audio parts box for the next time I want a simple way to generate sound.

Were you powering it with a VCC of 3v3 or 5v?

Literally had no idea about existence of such modules. I knew about those obsolete voice recorder ICs. This module looks awesome!

Thank you very much for not only investigating the topic but also taking the time to post your results. I have $20 buck worth of JR6001 that I will chalk up to learning and look to purchase some of these for the small animation projects I have. I like the five channel selection idea.

Have you experienced any issues with power causing them to be eractic?

Thanks for posting. I checked to see if 2MB was enough for the little animatronics I'm doing and it looks sufficient. For example, Bender has 1.3MB of sound files. I ordered two JQ6500 modules today to try out.
