You Asked, We Listened: Mathematical Symbols Now Available

We've seen a lot of element14 Community members ask for an easy way to add mathematical symbols to their posts and documents. Last night we released an update to the website that adds a new icon to the editor; simply click the icon and choose from a multitude of symbols. When you click one, it'll be added to your document.

I think is simple to use html coding but only before save, if you switch again to the full wysiwyg editor it may "translate" like here:

A workaround is editing your own post to kill the & <-> & conversion but it leads to unwanted emails like in this test.

Yeah, I just saw that it needs Flash too.. and no word on pricing. If you spot any others, add them to this thread & we'll make a note to take a look after the upgrade is complete.

The editor we use on the site is TinyMCE; we can do some customisations to it, or use plugins from elsewhere. Doing a quick web search for an off-the-shelf expression editor for TinyMCE didn't give me anything useful. If you spot one, give me a shout & I'll take a look. I guess even if it's not for TinyMCE, as long as it is generally build in JavaScript, we could possibly adapt it to work here.
