I like the design using the LM76L05 to produce 5V from the incoming supply. I typically use a buck/boost module to arrive at the voltage. Can you recommend a similar device that has a slightly higher current rating. I like to adapt your design to provide 5V for servos or the JQ6500 modules I use in projects. I use the 5V from the Nano with some reluctance. This design would remove that need.

Great experiment/write up. Motors and motor drivers can be very tricky to work with, especially given the noise that they can generate. Great work on showing how to do it right.

My last attempt with Motor Drivers was my Mr. Machine entry in the 'Recycle & Retrofit' project14 competition. I used Microchip's MTS2916A chips to control two stepper motors. These worked out nicely, with lots of internal protections and simple pulsing requirements. I will really have to revisit this project to clean up some of the printed parts to see if I can get to work a bit more reliably.

My thanks for the informative post. I'm trying real hard to not let this comment reflect my envy of the knowledge and quality in your post. Your posts is an example of someone doing something (me) and someone knowing how to do something (you). I struggle with the comparison stopping me from doing something I get enjoyment from. I have to admit my projects lack the quality that knowledge can bring.

Your post has motivated me to purchase some parts to use in my next implementation. I have some of the motor driver modules on order.

Can you recommend another zenor. I just can't find a use for the minimum order requirement of the component you recommended?

Can you update the schematic to include the regulator circuit? I would like to make it part of my implementation.

The Mikroe DC Motor 6 Click uses the TB67H451FNG

The TB67H451FNG and the TB67H450FNG differ only in their handling in the event of overcurrent.

The TB67H450FNG switches off in case of an overcurrent event and has to be reset by an acknowledgement

The TB67H451FNG has an auto-return function.
