Hi Doug,

I really like this project - very nice construction. I'm really interested to learn more about LoRaWAN - I have an ST L072Z-LRWAN1 development board but am fairly limited to what I can do with it at the moment as I do not yet have a gateway - it is certainly on my list of tech I want to buy!

One idea I had that your project could be used for........

I am a keen mountain biker and often go out into the hills next to where I live - although I am careful, there is always the potential for a crash - if I hurt myself badly in an area where there is not much footfall I could end up stuck! I wonder if a device like yours could be designed to fit on a mountain bike and regularly report its co-ordinates over a LoRaWAN network - my wife for example could then see where I am and see that I am still moving. It could even use a MEMS sensor and if it reads above a certain force and then no movement for a certain time it could generate an alert message with co-ordinates. I often do carry my phone for this reason - but this is not always ideal as it could get damaged and does not automatically report its position. A device that uses low power and is designed to fit onto a bike would be great!

Some good ideas there on how LoRa/LoRaWAN can be utilised and I look forward to watching how you progress.

Did you get the antennas from E14 as part of your bundle? I didn't realise the MKR1300s needed additional antennas, thinking they were like the MKR1010 board where the WiFi antenna is built in. Luckily I had been given a set of antennas from Molex at a trade fair - in the box there was one for 868MHz and another Ultra-wideband that also covered 868MHz, and both had u.fl connectors [View:/resized-image/__size/16x16/__key/commentfiles/f7d226abd59f475c9d224a79e3f0ec07-ac0372db-fe7b-4f57-8482-f3e009bab4fa/contentimage_5F00_1.png:16:16]
