I am trying to work on an idea much like this as I have several grocery stores that have many refrigeration/ freezer needs. Something like this that could be accessed remotely would be very useful.

I've done something similar, but I posted my data to my local website & then grabbed it from the website display using Microsoft Excel for graphing.

Great to hear about Ubidots and also learn a bit of Python!
