Some of the features for the device:

- Small enough to be portable.

- Rechargeable battery (charging when it is in the dock).

- GPS to publish its position in Google Maps.

- Device-on-dock sensor that publish the device as active in Google Maps once it is removed from the dock. Grey can be used for inactive state, green for active state and some other color for in maintenance state.

- Emergency call generated to primary emergency service when the device enters into active state.

- Biomedical sensors collecting some of the needed metrics for a first diagnose: temperature, BPM, blood pressure, ECG wave. Vital signs are transmitted to a medical operations center.

- WiFi transmission as the main communication channel. Can default to GSM connection if WiFi is not present.

- To be used as a first mechanism for vital signs monitoring while the primary emergency service arrives.

The kit I have in mind for this project is Atmel's SAMA5D3 Xplained.

Thanks for the opportunity to post.

Federico.-

RE: Need More Power?

In my spare time, after homework , I would like to make a sort of agenda/homework planner which can login to google agenda. I would use a screen to show the things I have to do and some buttons to mark them as urgent, done etc. That would need some buttons and a display (with touch) and something that got an internet connection, so I would use the Atmel SAMA5D3 or one of the Rapsberry PI shields.

RE: Need More Power?

With very limited time to maintain our swimming pool I would use the SAMA5D3 as a pool monitoring controller. It would be able to detect PH, Chlorine levels, Water Temp and possibly check the weather for Weeks with high humidity as that a chlorine monster. Once the device detects low chlorine or PH it would use a look up table on how much chlorine to add to the system. I would also like it to send an email daily with the values it logged throughout the day and also remind me to put the Cleaning Robot in weekly.

RE: Need More Power?

I have in mind a small project. I want to build small motor driver that is activated as the sun comes out, and opens a sliding door and at sun down it closes the door. It could have a time trigger. If the sensor doesn't detect the sun(cloudy weather) it will open the door in let say 7AM, or if in the evening it doesn't activate until 8PM it will close the door on time trigger. Next improvement will be with temperature sensor. If it's below range it will activate a heater.
