Here is the first actual 3D model. The dimensions are not final and not all the bits and bobs are there but it is close to something that could be printed. I can only work on this every few days but I thought I'd update in the hopes it would keep the pressure on me to make progress.

Unfortunately, I couldn't get the ILI9341 TFT display to work with the Arduino R4 with the two libraries I tried. The problem with the Adafruit library was reported but still not working and the other one I tried wasn't working either. The fix probably wouldn't be too hard but I am not in the mood to dive into display drivers today. So I pulled out a Feather and made a little board with a ribbon cable to attach to the display.

The next step was to make a rough draft of the face plate to see how things might look and fit. This was done in Fusion 360 by pulling in and scaling an image (unfortunately not accredited) and using it as a template.

There is a lot of work to do yet and I'll have to fit it in with everything else going on....

Maybe I could 3D print something with that nice '60s aesthetic of the original series and pack it with sensors.
