Ultra96 v2, Jtag download 59%

kevinwangsolutions

I got my Ultra96 board and Usb_to_Jtag board. I created a simple "hello world" project and tried to a "Standalone Application Debug" but failed.

Please check the picture as attached. "Launching Debugger" hold on 59%. I have been waiting for over half hour but didn't complete.

I did install a cable driver(I am not sure if I need to) but didn't change anything. I am wondering if the Ultra96 or Jtag board is bad or both are bad.

Anyone know what the problem is?

Thanks.

If the JTAG Pod was bad, your download wouldn't even start. The image shows you are hung during psu_init. You can try some searching and find a few hits, most of which are related to DDR settings being wrong.

Did you accidentally target the Ultra96 or Ultra96-V1 board when your hardware is Ultra96-V2? Those two boards have different DDR settings and would explain your problem.

Please give more detail on which BDFs you installed and from where. Double-check your BDF and actual hardware match.

    Ultra96 V2 hangs at psu_init (vivado 2018.2)

    Hi there,

This should only take a minute or two at most.

In Vivado, can you see the MPSoC?

Do you have your jumpers configured properly?

Have you tried to follow one of our guides?  You might find out what you are missing by doing that.

What environment are you using?  It is a VM?  If so, do you have the USB driver for the VM setup on your host?

When you setup your PC, did you follow instructions from the Avnet VM install guide?  There are a few things you need to configure around the JTAG in order for it to operate properly.

I think I put the wrong DDR settings. I will modify it and try again. Thanks.
