Avnet Boards General Tx pin for UART0 not working

Tx pin for UART0 not working

I set up the MicroZed pin 10 to be the output of a UART using Vivado. I then used an oscilloscope to monitor the output signal (50 ohm termination). It was working for a couple of weeks and then it just stopped working. I am unable to observe any signal from this pin. Is it possible that it is destroyed? If so, how could I have broken it?

    Do you mean Zynq MIO 10, which is on the MicroZed PMOD connector J5, pin 2?

    Or PMOD connector J5 pin 10, which is MIO 15? Or another connector.

    I mean the MIO 11 which is physically on the MicroZed board as J5 pin 3.

    MIO 11 can only be connected to UART0, which is not enabled by default. Make sure that UART 0 is still enabled and assigned to MIO 10-11.

     

    Otherwise, since J5 pin 3 is connected directly to the Zynq device,  it is certainly possible that you could damage the device by inadvertently connecting a voltage (like RS232 signal levels) outside of the Zynq I/O specification.

     

    You could also try connecting GPIO outputs to the J5 signals and attempt to toggle them to see if that one pin is indeed damaged or not.

     

    If you determine that the board is damaged, and your board purchase is within the warranty period, you can contact the organization you purchased the board from and request an RMA.
