Regarding Basic_IPI_Design_ZedBoard

Hi

I have downloaded the Basic_IPI_design given as part of the reference design tutorials. However, as I do not have much knowledge about the Vivado Tool Flow, I am not too sure if the bitstream has to be generated in Vivado and programmed into the Zedboard or do I need to open the SDK and browse to the SDK folder present in the design folder and program FPGA through it.
I actually need to show it as a part of a demo and so while I would take my time to get aquainted with the tool Flow, I was actually wanting a quick way of getting through the demo atleast which is kind of very inevitable for me.

Any help would be really appreciated. Please help !!!

Regards
Akanksha

A really good discusion on how the Vivado and SDK tool flow work is in the Avnet Developing Zynqu00AE-7000 All Programmable SoC Software (Vivado 2013.3)Speedway material you can download here: http://zedboard.org/support/trainings-and-videos

That said, if you want to use the Basic_IPI design as a quick demo the Vivado design and bitsteam have already been "exported" to SDK in this example and a simple peripheral test application already build. SDK is very sensitive to the directory path structure, so if you want to use the existing project without "importing" the project into your new location, you will need to place the project in the directory it expects. It expects to find the "SDK_Export" directory in the following path:
    C:/Development_Projects/Dev_Boards/Avnet_ZedBoard/2013_2/Basic_IPI_Design/Basic_IPI_Design.sdk/SDK/SDK_Export

You will need to unzip the project and change the directory path/names to match above. This project was build with Vivado 2013.2 it may or may not work without updates/changes in other versions of the tool.
