Microzed FSBL tutorial 4 Not working

Hello All.

I'm having some trouble with the MicroZed and the 4th tutorial. The first three tutorials went off with out a hitch. And I've been able to follow the system up till now, but I'm stuck in trying to prepare the boot image (experiment 2). Seems that the tool has changed a bit since the demo was written (and doesn't follow).

Basic issue is that I cannot load the correct elf files in the correct manor. The files run (based on the first part of the demo), but when I try using the 'create zynq boot image' something goes wrong. I can generate the file, but when loading the SD card, I no longer get the blue light to come one (suggesting that the FPGA is not loaded correctly).

Not specified in the instructions is what the 'edit partition' should be set for both .elf files. I've tried all combinations, but I'm doing something wrong.

Otherwise is a much nicer system (then say the OMAP environment).

Hi Daniel,

We are in the process of updating the MicroZed tutorials. Which Vivado version are you having problems with?

Vivado 2014.1 and SDK 2104.1 as well

I believe that my issue was soynq boot image. By chance, I relied on the defaults for both .elf files (FSBL and Periph_Test). This selected the FSBL as a bootloader and the test as a datafile (why datafile?) This seems to work for both loading the FPGA from the JTAG and also generation of the SD card .mcs file. It should also be noted in the docs, that to generate the mcs file, you must re-do the Zynq boot image, but change the output to mcs from .bin.

seems to be working now, I must have selected something incorrectly - would be nice if there was a log file to review on all the setups.
