Exposure HDR values for AR0231AT camera sensor in FMC MULTICAM4

saipradeep523
saipradeep523 over 4 years ago

AR0231AT camera sensors module can set in following exposure modes

  • Up to 4−exposure HDR at 1928 × 1208 and 30 fps or 3−exposure HDR at 1928 × 1208 and 40 fps fromhttps://www.onsemi.com/products/sensors/image-sensors-processors/image-sensors/ar0231at

From prebuilt images of AVNET i found exposure values can set from min 16 to max 1339.

what is the exact value to set in 4 - exposure mode and 3-Exposure mode?

    Pradeep,

The "exposure" you have highlighted from the linux console, is a 1-exposure value.
The linux driver does not support 3-exposure or 4-exposure modes you are asking about.

Bear in mind that if you enable 3-exposure or 4-exposure, the format of the image you receive changes.
Every line will have a different exposure in an alternating pattern of 3 or 4 lines.
Special processing is therefore required to interpolate between these 3 or 4 exposures to generate a final HDR image.

The multi-camera FMC reference designs do not implement this, and therefore do not support the HDR feature.

If you need HDR functionality in your product, I would refer to Pinnacle Imaging ( https://pinnacleimagingsystems.com/  ).
Their Delani IP implements the multiple exposure merge, as well as a Local Tone Mapping.

    Regards,
    Mario.

    Hi,
Related to this, I have been having trouble finding information on the values to be used in the configuration registers, for the AR0231AT (not only for exposure, but for all other changeable parameters).

Is one supposed to dig into the files code, like Pradeep ("From prebuilt images of AVNET i found exposure values can set from min 16 to max 1339.") or is there somewhere where I can find this data, structured and clear? I also haven't been able to find is on the ON Semi site.

    Thanks!

OK, I am in contact with On Semi, directly for this.
    Thanks anyway.
